Cocoa Beach, Florida - Your East Coast Florida Destination For Surf, Sand, and Adventure

When you think of Florida beaches and surfing, it's hard not to think of Cocoa Beach. Long considered one of the best of Florida's east coast surf locations - Cocoa Beach is a quick hour's drive east of Orlando - and will provide you with a true taste of the Florida beach community experience.

Almost any day of the week, one can find people enjoying the surf and sand, whether relaxing and catching some sun - or maybe trying their hand at surfing or surf fishing. If you're looking for some extra adventure, you can catch a deep sea fishing charter, brave the exhilarating experience of para-sailing, or join up with one of the area's eco-tourism groups to get up close and personal with Florida's awesome wildlife!

Without a doubt, one of the most famous local area institutions is the Ron Jon Surf Shop. Ron Jon's was founded back in 1959 on the New Jersey shore when Ron DiMenna was just catching on to surfing with fiberglass surfboards. A couple years after opening his Jersey Shore shop, DiMenna headed to Cocoa Beach, and opened up the location there that has since become a world-famous institution.

Also located near Cocoa Beach is Patrick Air Force Base, which serves as the Controlling Center for the Cape Canaveral Air Station, America's gateway to space. The air station remains one of the biggest draws to the Cocoa Beach area, as each space shuttle and rocket launch continues to amaze and enthrall spectators.

Whatever your interests, one thing remains true. If you enjoy warm temperatures and a laid back and varied lifestyle, Cocoa Beach, Florida is the place for you.
