Take a Holiday in Naples, Florida to Enjoy Some of America's Best Wildlife and Beaches

A holiday to America can allow you to experience many different things, but if wildlife and beaches are at the top of your priority list, there is no better place to visit than Naples, Florida.

Booking a holiday in Naples will give you the ideal base from which to begin exploring Florida's beautiful areas of natural wilderness. The city is just a few miles from the Everglades and a number of other reserves, which are home to a wide variety of exotic creatures.

There are few places in the world which have the same number of species as Florida. In addition to its world-famous alligators, you will find snakes, exotic birds, panthers and insects.

One of the best ways to enjoy the great outdoors during holidays to Florida is to take a boat ride through the Everglades. Book with an experienced guide and they will ensure you see the most picturesque areas and get close to the wildlife in complete safety.

You may also want to visit Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, where you will be able to take a walk through the wetlands on a specially constructed boardwalk. Although the Sanctuary is home to snakes and alligators, its main attraction is birdlife and you can see endangered species such as the wood stork and numerous wading birds here.

Another place worth visiting is the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. The area is designed to provide a safe habitat for the endangered Florida panther and although access to the public is limited, you will be able to follow a number of hiking trails in the Refuge.

And if it's a glimpse of alligators that you're after, why not spend a day checking out the Everglades Alligator Farm? The facility is home to more than 2,000 of the reptiles, as well as an extensive menagerie of snakes, caimans and crocodiles, as well as other native and international wildlife. Informative shows are presented hourly and you are likely going to want to stay for the alligator feedings, which are held twice daily.

Once you've spent a few days exploring the local nature reserves, you may be in the mood to spend a little time relaxing. Naples holidays have the perfect locations to do just that, as the Gulf coast has some stunning white sand beaches.

A trip to Delnor-Wiggins Pass or Clams Pass beaches will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the coastline in peace, but if you are looking for somewhere a little more lively, then head to Naples Municipal Beach. In addition to miles of pristine sand, it is home to the pier, where you will be able to join hundreds of locals in enjoying a beer while attempting to catch some fish.

If you're a keen fishing enthusiast, you may even want to take to the seas to try your luck. It's easy to charter a boat in Naples and try your hand at catching tarpon, snook, grouper and a variety of other local fish. You may even want to give the latest fad - kayak fishing - a try!

But don't worry too much if you don't manage to hook anything, as Naples has plenty of good seafood restaurants where you can bring an enjoyable day to a close.

You can also try your hand at golf or improve your game at one of the local courses. Close to 90 courses are located in Collier County, so there is sure to be one that is perfect for you.

And when it comes time to picking out the perfect souvenir of your dream trip to Florida, there is plenty of shopping to be done in Naples! Whether you're looking to browse the fashion boutiques and art galleries on Fifth Avenue South or nearby Gallery Row, or you're after a bargain in one of the local outlets, you're sure to find something to remind you of your holiday. For a true island-style souvenir, head over to Marco Island where you'll find plenty of art and treasures to bring home from your travels.
